The online blue-collar platform

We are starting our next „Selection and development with tests and questionnaires (OT/OPQ)” themed online training on February 14th. We focused on the details of the training in our previous blogpost, and now we would like to introduce our online blue-collar platform, which is also part of the training’s material.

With the online blue-collar platform it is possible to select physical workers via the Internet. Our user-friendly platform ensures that only a stable internet connection and calm environment is needed for the measurements. Our recommended bundle involves the Adaptive Intelligence Test, which can help predict learning ability; the Vocabulary Test, which can predict how well the candidate will understand instructions; the Mechanical Interpretation Test, which measures if the candidate has affinity for the machines used in production; and the Spatial Thinking Test, which shows how well the candidate is able to imagine and recognize shapes. Every test evaluates the candidate’s results in comparison to a chosen normative group.

All the tests measure abilities that are required for physical work. For example, the Mechanical Thinking Test measures how well the candidate is able to understand mechanical structures. This ability predicts the performance on several fields reliably. Because the test questions’ phrasing is fairly simple and schematic, the real challenge is to understand how the mechanical structures work, therefore the results are easily comparable in the case of different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. If the results show that the candidate did better that 24% of the normative group, we can say that he is not able to understand mechanical structures as well as others in the comperative group. This deficiency can make it harder for him to perform well in fields that require this ability. Furthermore, we can draw conclusions from how fast he completed the test: slow work is just as unproductive as rushed work.
